RAZ 73.8' Snake Lights
RAZ Snake Lights are one of my go-to choices when I'm lighting a Christmas tree, especially a medium or tall tree. The 73.8-foot strand has 1,000 warm white LED lights on green wire, giving you plenty of length to work from the top of the tree down through the branches.
I've used these lights for years, and they're one of the reasons I love using long snake-light strands on my Christmas trees. You get a lot of light on one long, lightweight strand instead of having to connect a bunch of shorter strands.
Eight Light Settings
These RAZ Snake Lights come with a remote control and DC adapter and offer eight different light functions:
- Combination
- Medium twinkle
- Sequential
- Slow twinkle
- Chasing/flash
- Slow fade
- Twinkle/fade
- Steady on
That gives you plenty of options depending on the look you're creating. I especially like the twinkle settings when I want a little extra movement and sparkle.
My Zig-Zag Lighting Technique
This is how I use snake lights on my Christmas trees.
I start at the top of the tree and work my way down, placing the lights in a zig-zag pattern through the branches. I continue down the tree until I reach the base.
For reference, I typically use:

9-foot slim tree: 3 strands

10-foot full tree: 5 strands
Your tree may require more or fewer strands depending on its height, fullness and how densely you want it lit.
Indoor & Outdoor Christmas Lights
RAZ Snake Lights can be used indoors or outdoors, making them a versatile choice for Christmas trees, garland and other holiday displays.
The green wire works especially well when you're using the lights on a traditional green Christmas tree because it blends into the branches.
Why I Love Long Snake Lights
One of the biggest reasons I reach for snake lights is the length. A long strand lets me cover more of a Christmas tree without constantly stopping to connect another short strand.
